Clean water, basic toilets & good hygiene practices are essential for the survival & development of children.

It is said the next commodity that will lead to conflict amongst nations is water. As it stands there are many regions affected by drought and water shortages. The regions that have enough water supply struggle with building infrastructure to supply communities with water, let alone clean purified water. This forces people to use contaminated water and that, in turn, leads to the rapid spread of various water-borne diseases.

Worldwide, around 663 million families do not have access            to improved water sources.

CNZ Investments, a South African based company, has an innovative solution aimed at enhancing the quality of life by giving people access to water that is safe for human consumption and for domestic use.

How Do They Do This?

A device called the Village Bucket Filter is used to purify water taken from rivers, dams, boreholes and harvested rain water. It can also be used in disaster relief operations in regions where supply of clean water has been disrupted. There are no chemicals used in the device and this reduces harm and damage to humans and the environment
Every day, over 800 children under five years children die from preventable diseases caused by poor water, and a lack of sanitation and hygiene

The device is SABS SANS 241: 2011 (Edition 1) compliant and with a 10 year lifespan the device provides a very cost effective method of water purification. It exceeds EPA standards with a removal rate of 99.9999% of bacteria which cause Cholera, Botulism, Typhoid, Amoebic Dysentery (E coli, Coliform Bacteria, Streptococcus, Salmonella). It also removes Protozoa, Giardia, Cryptosporidium, Cycospora.

In 2016, 132000 cases of Cholera  were reported, with 54% being in Africa (WHO)
